Abstract

The ICAN beam combining system may require a control with thousands of degrees of freedom. The methods developed for the control of adaptive optics are presented. The recent issues raised by the European-Extremely Large Telescope are introduced as well as the solutions presently studied. The possible benefits which could be drawn for ICAN are analysed.
