Abstract
This paper presents a high performance control of interior permanent magnet synchronous motor (IPMSM) incorporating a neuro-fuzzy controller (NFC) coupled with a loss minimization algorithm (LMA). Among numerous LMAs, a loss model based controller (LMC) offers fast response with minimum torque pulsations. Thus, an LMC is developed in this work to optimize the efficiency of the drive while an adaptive network-based fuzzy inference system based NFC is developed to achieve high dynamic speed response. In order to overcome the unknown and nonlinear uncertainties of the drive the membership function of the NFC is tuned online. The performance of the proposed controller is demonstrated in both simulation and experiment.
