Abstract

Mutuality of material with the machining method plays a very important role in any manufacturing field. Improving the process performance of the wire electric discharge machining (WEDM) can be achieved by developing the modeling. The present work is devoted to adaptive neuro-fuzzy interference system (ANFIS) modeling for wire electric discharge machining of Al7075/B4C (Boron carbide) metal matrix composites (MMC). An attempt was done to see the influence of process parameters named as a pulse on time, peak current (IP) and servo voltage (SV) on the surface roughness (SR) and material removal rate (MRR). Surface roughness decreases with the peak current as well as a pulse on time but it gets increases with the servo voltage whereas the opposite trend was observed for the material removal rate. The predicted value is compared with the measured value to check the accuracy of the developed model.
