Abstract

Multilevel FIR-median hybrid (FMH) filters are able to preserve as fine details while simultaneously attenuation noise. The noise attenuation ability of multilevel FMH filters depend on that of FMU filters which are subfilters of multilevel FMH filters. In this paper, we develop a new modified FMH filter and apply this FMH filter to all-level filtering of multilevel FMH filters, in order to improve the noise attenuation ability keeping the edge preserving properity on.
