Abstract

Three methods of extending the amplitude (dynamic) range of the transformed signals in discrete stroboscopy are proposed. The methods are developed on the basis of classic discrete stroboscopic signal transformation methods, namely statistical and up-and-down methods. The proposed methods are called adaptive ones, because they use additional information on the transformed signal’s behavior obtained at the determined signal measurement phase or information obtained at the preceding measurement phase. The efficiency of the proposed methods is illustrated by statistical simulation using the ultra-wideband radar signal model, i.e., harmonic monooscillations.
