Abstract

Query processing in data grids is a complex issue due to the heterogeneous, unpredictable and volatile behavior of grid resources. Considering the existence of multiple partial replicas for each relation and the volatile nature of grid environment, this paper investigates the issues and proposes an adaptive, load-balanced join processing approach. Analytical and experimental results show the effectiveness of our approach.
