Abstract
In this article, an adaptive forwarding output feedback control strategy is investigated for a single machine infinite bus (SMIB) system with thyristor controlled series compensation (TCSC) device. A novel adaptive forwarding control strategy is proposed for the SMIB system. The order of the system is reduced gradually by implementing the immersion and invariance (I&I) control theory repetitively, and a requirement of solving the partial differential equations is obviated. Furthermore, an I&I observer is presented on the basis of adaptive I&I technique. By drawing an appropriately selected attractive manifold in the extended state space, an asymptotic estimation of the immeasurable state could be achieved.
