Abstract
This work focuses on an adaptive least mean square (LMS) feedforward control scheme combining with the model reference method. The overall control system maintains the basic structure of the adaptive feedforward controller and incorporates a reference model in the system. Model reference adaptive feedforward controller using finite impulse response (FIR) filters is proposed. The feedforward plant output is compared with reference model and error signal is used to adaptively adjust the LMS feedforward controller's output. Simulation results from a flexible beam model show that vibration has been reduced due to the adaptive feedforward model reference controller.
