Abstract
Epilepsy is a dynamical disease - symptoms are produced by aberrant dynamics of neuronal networks. Although numerous attempts have been made to suppress epileptic seizures in human patients by stimulating sites remote from the epileptic focus, the efficacy of doing this without taking the dynamics of the seizures into account have been unimpressive.
