Abstract

Abstract The paper presents system-theoretical and experimental evidence for adaptive control of body temperature in the cold. It turns out that adaptive adjustments are present both in the controlled system and in the controlling elements, i.e. sensors, central processing and effectors. This guarantees an economic control with only small deviations of body temperature.
