Abstract

Considering the frequency regulation characteristics of Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) and battery energy storage system (BESS), an adaptive control strategy of BESS and HVAC participating in frequency regulation is proposed in this paper. Frequency deviation, rate of frequency deviation, state of charge (SOC) retention performance and user comfort are considered in the proportional coefficient model of HVAC and BESS. The proposed control strategy is verified by the operation of step disturbance and continuous disturbance and compared with fixed proportional coefficient control strategy. Results show that the proposed strategy can achieve better frequency regulation performance, SOC retention performance and user comfort.
