Abstract

In this paper, a scheme of model reference adaptive control system for non-minimum phase system is proposed. Exact model matching is the most reasonable design method for control system. It is necessary for exact model matching that the plant is of minimum phase. The proposed method is classified as the method in which feedforward compensators are designed at the first stage so as to make the extended system be of minimum phase before an adaptive control system is designed. The proposed method can achieve partial model matching in low frequency domain for any reference model. The feedforward compensators need not be determined in a “trial and error” way. The result from robust stabilization problem is applied in order to stabilize the right half plane (RHP) zeros. The number of adjustable parameters is as twice as the degree of the system to be controlled. Further, some ideal conditions assumed for the ordinary adaptive system are not needed.
