Abstract

AbstractThis chapter presents the theory and application of model reference adaptive control (MRAC) to augment a baseline control to improve performance and robustness to model uncertainties. The adaptive control is derived using a Lyapunov‐type argument and is shown to extend performance and robustness of a baseline linear quadratic regulator control law. A flight control application is used to demonstrate the approach and evaluate the design using nonlinear simulation.
