Abstract
Based on analyzing the characteristics of Ad Hoc network and its impact on TCP performance,a mechanism named Adaptive ADTCP(Adaptive Ad Hoc TCP) was proposed.On the basis of acquiring a clear identification of network status,this mechanism configured the window increment factor adaptively according to the forward path length.And then,greedy growth of TCP congestion window was limited to avoid congestion.The packet size in light of current congestion window was changed to make full use of network resource.The simulation result shows that Adaptive ADTCP improves the throughput of TCP significantly both in heavy load and high mobility scenario.
