Abstract

Many populations of Lytoceratidae from the Toarcian and Aalenian of the Lyon area are studied in correlation with their sedimentary environments. This study partly confirm traditional palaeocological interpretations. However, it appears that Lytoceratidae show a large adaptability and constitute an important part of the faunal assemblage of the N.W. European realm.
