Abstract

A longitudinal study of a case of unilateral acute papillitis was conducted in the first four months after onset to monitor the rate and extent of recovery. Various clinical tests and instruments used in the monitoring of this condition are discussed. The Friedmann Visual Analysers macular function test proved to be a valuable means of assessing recovery quantitatively.
