Abstract

Pulmonary embolism (PE) is globally recognized as the third most frequent acute cardiovascular syndrome next to myocardial infarction and stroke. Annual incidence rates for PE range from 39-115 per 100 000 population. Clinical presentation of acute PE is non-specific and high suspicion is maintained based on various scoring system like Wells scoring system and later will proceed to other required investigation.
