Abstract

This small volume fills a long-felt need in medical literature for the presentation in one place of the accumulated knowledge on this subject. The author is by training (otolaryngology) and special interest well qualified to present the material. Lest a pediatric audience approach the book with suspicion, the following quotation should be noted (p. 157): "I feel that in most cases the pediatrician should assume the direction in the handling of these patients, except for the endoscopic and surgical aspects, which are obviously the proper domain of the laryngologists."
