Abstract
The diverse spectrum of acute finger injuries diagnosed with Ultrasound is a reflection of the hands complex anatomy and function, combined with an athlete's desire to challenge, refine and push to the limit this functionality. High-resolution ultrasound probes now make identification of tendon injury reliable, fast and with the added benefit of dynamic assessment, a diagnostic method of choice. This presentation is visual library based presentation of the many hand injuries that present to Imaging at Olympic Park each year. As players also often present towards the six week mark when expected return to function has slowed or failed, it will also demonstrate the unique ultrasound identifiers for granulation and repair in this sub acute phase. Bring your glasses if you need, as 0.6 mm is standard reference size in the tour of microanatomy.
