Abstract

Summary The clinical features of 37 cases of acute encephalitis in British prisoners of war in Malaya in 1942 are described. They closely resemble these of the St. Louis and Japanese type of acute encephalitis but epidemiological studies to establish any aetiological relationship were not possible.
