Abstract
Abstract Acute mesenteric ischemia is a life-threatening disease that can be managed by surgery or endovascular therapy. Endovascular therapy shows great efficacy and good clinical outcomes even in technically demanding interventions, and it can become an alternative to surgery. After the revascularisation of mesenteric arteries, we should take into account the risk of reperfusion injury with systemic inflammatory response syndrome and worse clinical outcomes. We present a case of acute embolic mesenteric ischemia associated with acute left external iliac artery occlusion due to poorly anticoagulated atrial fibrillation, treated by a complex multiple stent-based angioplasty.
