Abstract

This 16-year-old boy presented with irritability and declining school performance in mathematics and history for 4 months. He was never a very good student. Two months after onset, he developed unsteadiness in walking and lower-limb weakness and tingling and then generalized seizures 15 days before presentation. There was no preceding fever, rash, toxin exposure, vaccination, or diarrhea. He was conscious, oriented, with reduced fund of knowledge, had spasticity and hyper-reflexia with normal upper limb, and grade 3-4 lower limb power.
