Abstract

Introduction: High-risk atherosclerosis may be demonstrated in the absence of coronary artery calcium (CAC) and may lead to acute coronary syndromes (ACS). The purpose of this study was to evaluate quantitative atherosclerotic plaque characteristics (APCs) and cardiovascular events derived from cardiac computed tomography angiography (CCTA) prior to the development of ACS.
