Abstract

Acute colonic pseudo-obstruction syndrome is a condition mostly affecting the elderly aged people with comorbidities, can rarely occur in postpartum period after caesarean section resulting in massive colonic dilatation without mechanical obstruction. It may lead to intestinal perforation if not identified and treated earlier. We report a case where a low risk primi underwent emergency LSCS for obstetric indication developed caecal perforation during postoperative period requiring laparotomy.
