Abstract

PREVIEWRapid recognition of acute Chest syndrome is essential in patients with sickle cell disease. The condition can be particularly severe in adolescents and adults and often leads to death. In this article, the authors review the challenges of evaluating the syndrome and outline current treatment and supportive care.
