Abstract
Aims: It is unclear if percutaneous coronary interventions (PCI) stimulate an inflammatory response, and whether polymorphonuclear granulocyte (PMN) activation in this setting would be better characterised by the myeloperoxidase (MPO) or human leucocyte elastase (HLE) levels. This study sought to provide clarification on these issues.
