Abstract

In the article it is considered the role of the activity factor in the continuous professional teachers' growth. It is highlighted the meaning and the essence of such notions as activity, educational activity, professional activity, research activity; and it is established the correlation of these concepts. It is also revealed that every activity has a purpose and the final result, which is directed to the defined objects and represents the activity of the subjects that enters into social relations. It is noted that educational activity is the basis and the means of preparation for any other activity. It is indicated that the professional activity of a teacher is characterized by a variety and a variability of conditions, methods and ways that requires continuous development of the creative demonstrations of the pedagogical process. Its component is a research activity which aimed at obtaining new accurate, objective, systemic knowledge. The research activity of the teacher has a creative character and it is an indicator of a high level of his/her pedagogical activity.These facts prove the idea that the teacher of the modern school should be a creator and a researcher. An educator also should be capable of the analysis, the observation, finding analogies, the generalization, the correction of pedagogical techniques or means. It is noted that the readiness of a teacher for research involves his/her mastering the research skills in the broadest sense of the concept, and it consists of motivational, cognitive and technological components. Motivational component is realized through such qualities of the teacher as responsibility, confidence, sensitivity, tolerance, honesty. The cognitive component is realized through such qualities of the teacher's personality as originality, autonomy, initiative, flexibility, ability to search and build a system of possible actions, ability to comprehend the problem. Modern technologies facilitate the transformation of spontaneous ideas into deliberate search and, in general, are the organizing start for the research activity.
