Abstract

Service activities and flexible production systems. — In the current revival of interest in economic location, the question of flexible production systems is becoming more and more important, not only for industrial location but also for service activities. After a presentation of the basic concepts of flexibility, this paper envisages the consequences of the process of flexible production on the formation of nodes of service activities and on the segmentation of labor markets.
