Abstract

Power quality is an important aspect studied nowadays. Related to energy efficiency in electricity the power quality is a very important concept which give us a view regarding the energy efficiency. The main responsible for a poor power quality is the non-linear loads, who's number is increasing every day. The active power filters (APF) is a solution to improve the power quality. The construction of this APF is requiring knowledge about the power quality and about the known control strategies. Those control strategies must be able to deal with the poor power quality. This paper presents an electronic solution: M-tool which is an application able to indicate the most appropriated control strategy in certain conditions. This application was developed in the project:, Knowledge Transfer Regarding the Energy Efficiency Increase and Intelligent Power Systems” (acronym CRESC-INTEL).
