Abstract
The integration of radar and communication system can reduce the size and weight of equipment, and enable multiple radars effectively share information to realize radar communication networks. Especially in the military, it can significantly improve the efficiency of future informatization war. Phased array radars and wireless communication systems are well integrated due to similar hardware architecture and implementation techniques. Based on the active phased array radar and the parameterized multipath channel model, the channel matrix estimation problem is transformed into the parameter estimation of the path directions and gains. In this paper, we propose a scheme to estimate the path directions, including the angles of departure (AOD) and angles of arrival (AOA), by the two-dimensional beamspace multiple signal classification (2D-MUSIC) method, and estimate the path gains by the least squares (LS) method. The experimental results demonstrate that the proposed scheme is feasible and has further improved performance compared with the classic least squares (LS) method and the orthogonal matching pursuit (OMP) method.
