Abstract

This paper proposes an active fault tolerant attitude control method for a faulty rigid spacecraft. The proposed scheme solves the problem of fault tolerant controller design in the presence of actuator loss of effectiveness (LOE) fault and actuator saturation constraint. A sliding mode fault estimation observer is designed for the faulty attitude systems of rigid spacecraft to get the estimated value of the actuator loss of effectiveness fault. Then, an active fault tolerant controller is developed by using slide model control scheme, and it could guarantee that the closed loop faulty attitude systems is asymptotical stable under the proposed fault tolerant controller. Finally, simulation results are presented to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method.
