Abstract

This correspondence describes an active-feedback distributed RC (R~C~) network that provides sharp-cutoff low-pass characteristics using a single controlled voltage source. The network, simulated on a digital computer, provides sharp low-pass frequency characteristics similar to those of more complex discrete active RC networks. The effect of using practical active controlled voltage sources with nonzero source resistances is shown to result in poorer out-of-band rejection. The source resistance must consequently be kept small, and design curves are given in this report.
