Abstract

In this paper active control of radial rotor vibrations in electrical machines is studied. We consider attenuation of rotation speed harmonic vibration components by using a built-in force actuator. The action of the actuator is based on the electromechanical interaction between the rotor and the stator of the machine. Actuator is given a low-order linear state-space model which is identified by time-stepping finite element simulations. An adaptive control strategy is applied and numerical simulation results with test machine parameters are presented.
