Abstract

This article shows the use of both static and dynamic variable structure control for active isolation of vibrations in mechanical systems. The application of these approaches is illustrated by a mechanical nonlinear system of one degree of freedom, which uses an electrohydraulic actuator. The results show excellent advantages of using these control techniques. The robust performance of the controlled system in the face of external disturbances is shown through computer simulations.
