Abstract

The development of the turning moments and their patterns in various models of epitrochoid generated “ROPIMA” type hydrostatic units with “fixed axis” or “equivalent system” rotors has been studied. Analysis of the contact stresses and the generation of the gaps at the active contacts and their possible reductions are the major aims of this work. The deflection and the stresses have been estimated using Hertz’s contact stress theory with the help of a proposed dimensionless analytical technique.
