Abstract
A novel configuration of an active aperture-coupled dielectric resonator antenna is reported. The design methodology is discussed and experimental results in the frequency range 4-6 GHz are presented. A comparison between an active aperture-coupled dielectric resonator antenna and an active aperture-coupled microstrip patch antenna is presented. The results presented should have useful potential applications in phased arrays and communication systems. >
