Abstract
1. A new phenomenon of activation of unloading deep zones under the effect of a large dam and deep reservoir is observed in rock masses of foundations of certain superhigh concrete, mainly arc, dams. The process of technogenic unloading of the natural stress state of the mass leads to its extremely deep decompression, substantially changing the conditions of interaction of elements of the dam — foundation — reservoir system.
