Abstract

Measurements of the cross-section for the 122Te(n,2n)121mTe and 122Te(n,2n)121gTe reactions and their ratio within the energy range of 13 –5 MeV have been carried out using the method of activation and off-line γ-ray spectrometry. The fast-moving neutrons were produced via the 3H(d,n)4He reaction on a K-400 neutron generator. Natural high-purity Te powder was used as the target material. The value of pure ground-state cross-section σg was obtained. Theoretical excitation functions were also calculated by means of the nuclear-reaction codes TALYS-1.95 with six level densities, at neutron energies varying from the reaction threshold to 20 MeV. The results were also discussed and compared with some of the corresponding values found in the literature.
