Abstract

Boron alloyed duplex stainless steels have been obtained by sintering the mixture of austenitic and ferritic stainless steels powders, and their mechanical properties have been studied in comparison to the boron free sintered duplex stainless steels. Boron activates sintering and enhances densification, closing the residual porosity and increasing ductility with respect to the boron free sintered duplex stainless steels.
