Abstract

Transport measurements were performed on large Hall bars made of high mobility GaAs/AlGaAs heterostructures in the regime of the IQHE. The pre-exponential factors of thermally activated conductivities were found to be close to 2 e 2/ h within a narrow range around integer filling factors. The relation between transverse and longitudinal resistivities ρ xy ( ρ xx ) for ρ xx ⪡ ρ xy was found to be strictly linear in the considered range, while showing strong asymmetry with respect to the plateau centres. Nonuniversal behaviour is discussed by emphasizing the importance of small macroscopic density fluctuations in our samples in connection with electron transport within the percolation picture.
