Abstract
1. 1. When the sciatic nerve is stimulated, action potentials without muscle contractions can be obtained from glycerol perfused Rana pipiens gastrocnemius muscles. 2. 2. Cardiac perfusion of a live frog, coupled with the ease of dissection of the gastrocnemius, make this technique readily adaptable to use for the study of muscle action potentials.
