Abstract

Acrylates and methacrylates with pyrimidine rings were synthesized starting from 1,3-bis(hydroxyalkyl) 5,5-diethylbarbiturates and acrylic or methacrylic acids. Then these monomers containing pyrimidine rings were subjected to radical polymerization. The values of thermal stability of the polymers were enhanced in comparison with those of common polyacrylates and polymethacrylates obtained from aliphatic diols.
