Abstract

Reviews the sources and difficulties in the acquisition of international documents, including the United Nations, but with a primary focus upon those produced by the International Labour Office. Identifies principal collections in the United States and evaluates their means for meeting the needs of the serious documents user. Suggests the need for a comprehensive plan by producers to provide users more effective blanket order services. Recommends that the Association of International Libraries be considered as an international middle-person to seek ways to make the acquisition of international organization documents and publications easier for all and, given the proper financing, to serve as a blanket order dealer for international publications.
