Abstract

This paper is a report on the acquisition and processing of Greenland marine gravity data collected 1991–1995, in connection with Nunaoil-operated seismic surveys in Greenland shelf areas. The used LaCoste and Romberg gravimeter worked nearly automatically and without major problems throughout all surveys. The navigation was by P-code GPS. The results of the data processing show that the marine gravity surveys have a very high accuracy (r.m.s. less than 0.5 mgal at cross-over points). The high accuracy is related to the combination of a slow vessel speed and the use of precise GPS navigation.
