Abstract

Acquired anterior diaphragmatic hernia (ADH) is usually the result of thoracic trauma. Acquired Morgagni-type anterior diaphragmatic hernia is a rare complication after cardiac surgery, especially with associated pericardial hernia. We will present a patient with acquired Morgagni-type hernia and pericardial hernia presumably after previous cardiac surgery successfully treated with laparoscopic Morgagni hernia reduction and repair with mesh onlay as well as prophylactic laparoscopic appendectomy, open epigastric hernia repair, and open umbilical hernia repair.
