Abstract

This chapter focuses on continuous query answering over an RDF stream and evolving distributed data in the context of RDF Stream Processing (RSP) applications. Although RSP engines are suitable for continuous query evaluation, complex analyses that combine data streams and distributed data is challenging. This chapter introduces an approach in which a replica of the distributed data is stored locally. In addition, different maintenance processes are proposed to keep the data in the replica fresh, and to minimize (or even avoid) the errors in the query result. This explains the name ACQUA given to the framework. It offers a possibly approximate solution to the problem of Continues QUery Answering. Specifically, this chapter presents ACQUA architecture and policies tailored for basic graph patterns.
