Abstract
A considerable increase in the amplitude and phase nonreciprocity of acoustooptic elements due to formation of an interferometer for diffracted light waves is demonstrated theoretically and experimentally. The optimal conditions for unidirectional single-frequency operation of ring lasers with an acoustooptic interferometric nonreciprocal element are determined. A new frequency decoupling system is proposed for counterpropagating waves in a ring laser.
