Abstract

Abstract A technique is proposed to observe effects of acoustic waves in piezoelectric crystals by differential Raman spectroscopy. Anisotropic deformations induced by acoustic waves are shown to change crystal symmetry and result in redistribution of lines’ intensity and new Raman lines appearance. Such effects in KDP and α-quartz crystals are presented as examples.
