Abstract
It is shown that under appropriate conditions two mutually orthogonal acoustic gratings contributing to the conjugate wave are simultaneously excited in absorbing dye layers under DFWM. Application of photoacoustic spectroscopy in hypersonic frequency band is proposed to investigate excited singlet levels.
