Abstract

The study of such characteristics as acoustic nonlinear parameter, gas bubbles distribution and cavitation strength of sea water is submitted. Methods of nonstationary linear and nonlinear sound scattering were applied in order to make the differentiation between the scattering by resonant gas bubbles from the scattering by other microinhomogeneities. Researches of acoustic nonlinearity in an active layer of the sea were carried out up to the depth 100 m. Some relationships between cavitation strength, nonlinear parameter and bubble distribution for typical sea state were obtained.
